About I took this picture last year, in the lab. It was taken through the microscope (Olympus), with, at least 40x amplification. These are the yeast cells that I work with. Same "brand" that is used to make bread, beer, wine...with a few lab modifications. Dedicated to my friend Gilberto Santa Rosa, a MD, researcher and photographer from Brasil!

Diaba!

Those yeast cells are naked!

Some of them are in pairs, making babies. And some of them are in the middle of giving birth!

This pic should be labeled 'adult!'

Whether they should be in the 'nude female' or 'nude male' section depends on the outcome of your experiments.

Are these cells of the 'a' or 'alpha' mating type?

I'm going to dig up some of my E. coli pictures, after lysozyme stripped of all their clothes.
I'll upload one with very big micropili at high magnification.

I think I have some yeast pics too. Ribosomal mutation that causes the Mickey Mouse phenotype, a.k.a. the Ménage-à-Trois phenomenon.

Indeed, a very happy white blood cell! Incredible, no?
Cheers,
Ana

Budding Yeast indeed

Cheers.

This was not edited. I found this on a blood smear exactly how you see it.

Enjoy.

Gilberto,
