Going through your photos this one made me stop and look again. Why? The contrast of course. However the best for me is th beautiful tones of the B/W part. The red is so intence that my eye wants to look at the grey tones. Interesting image. Have you tried it with only the baskets in color? Thanks for your cimments on my work, Gil

Really intersting. It makes it seem as if the vendor and the street people are in 2 different worlds.

Yes Cameny, you are right about the sharpness etc. This was really done as a test, using a cropped part of a 2MP image - thus, not much left to play with and no premeditated framing in the original shot. Now what I need to do is get out and take some shots with the express intention of giving them this treatment subsequently... Thanks for all your comments. AJ

Nice street photo, good use of partial desaturation, solid composition. On the other side, not so sharp, neat and clear.

AJ, I see you put color to everyone's humdrum everyday life. Very well done. Thanks for your comment on my spoonbills. Marilyn

Armando - I can now formally acknowledge the inspiration for this image: I clearly remember the bananas (and I think I posted a comment). But I don't remember looking at the popcorn stall before. Anyway, your idea stuck in my mind and I apologise for copying your idea - but it was so good... AJ

Thanks Den - you see why yours caught my eye, although I realise this is really how the weather was. And yes, I'd thought about the pigeon too. AJ

Thanks for the comment AJ. Actually there was no manipulation in my shot, that is just how the weather was that day. However I do agree that it is fun and you've done it here with great effect. The guy with the trolley sure grabs the attention and then there's the subtle touch of the hanging fruit coloured. Fabulous! I think the pigeon should also be coloured as it seems that's what the guy is looking at. Overall a splendid image. Den
