Dear Thilo, this is a very beautiful image, I like your composition and the colors, I read Hugo's comment about the colors being overdone and I do respect his opinion of course :) but actually I find it very pleasing to my eye. I love the color of the frame too. Another great one my friend! :)

unfortunately, I only have a small analogue modem pipeline for the internet at home. nothing really suitable for big files ;-)
I see your point and I won't argue on the saturation point =) Sometimes I go for overdone colors delibaretely knowing that some guys won't like them. Call this style finding =)
anyway, good flight for you. I'll be leaving Germany for some weeks too next week, so farewell to you and I hope we will see next year in full flavour again.

Hi Thilo, I've been pondering over this one, and to put it bluntly, I think you can do better than this in the postprocessing.
The photo itself is well composed, and I like the scene alot; it has a great potential for a truely impressive atmosphere and mood.
Normally, I do like a large colourdepth with good saturation, but I do believ you've over done it with this photo; it's beyond the point of subtlety, that is. The orange of the sunlight on the house is too bright, IMO, and in the reflection, it even looks a bit burned. Furthermore, it looks a tad oversharpened, too, but you didn't mention sharpening in the PS concept, so I might be mistaken there. Could be a bit too much contrast.
I would love to have a go in PS with the original file, to show you what I mean. Unfortunately I'll be leaving for HK and China tomorrow morning, and there's still so much to do! I'm more than happy to give it a shot, though... Send me an email to hdewolf at gmail.com if you're interested...:)

Hi Baki,
thanks for the precious comment. As you can see on the sky, the day was very dull. the sun just comes through when going down and sending some beams through the canal (where you can see some reflections). I would love to go there with a better overall lighting ;-)

if there is no color than grey, I cannot do anything against it (ah, I may do so, but my works in PS don't include such strong changes like adding colors). I just worked on saturation with layers.
