About I'll be out of town for a few days, but I'll catch up on comments next week!
This is the front gate of a reconstructed Northwest Company fur trading fort in St. Boniface, a part of Winnipeg. This must have been a welcome sight to the fur traders coming back from a long sled dog trading trip!

Very nice, great details on the dropping snow and also very good the difference between that colorfull building against the others that looks like almost...desaturated! hehehe... open gates for the visitors, that is very nice when the weather is so bad! :-D
(ok...bad...good weather for me....)
best regards!

Nice deep in this photo. Great natural frame. I also like the lines/texture on the houses... and the red house gives some "plus" to the scene and so does the way you captured the falling snow.
Good work.
Best regards, Alex

Neat image. The framing through the doors really makes the red of the porch stand out.

This shot was perfectly designed imo, Dave. First thing that drew my attention was the interplay of the greyish wood structure in front as a frame for the more colourful houses to be seen through the barn door. This is in natural what some people arrive at in partial monotones in PS. What really kept my attention was the clarity and crispness of the greyish wood and those little specs of subdued colours to be found there. This makes this part a whole univers to roam and discover. Very enticing work! Congrats!

I alrady told you that I think I'm falling in love with your barn bno less than you, Dave. Ithink the prsesnt photo is the best in this series so far. The snow-flakes and the red partial wall bring it to life.
Thank you for your kind words about my "Fall colors"
Best regards,
Rafi

A beautifully composed photo Dave, I love how you have led us into the picture through these doors as if we were the traders approaching. The touch of color on the inner building really make it stand out. Going into my favorites. See you soon. Alison

OMG!!! This morning's viewing has been an absolute feast for my eyes and I thought nothing could get better ... till this image from you!
Dave my dear ... AWESOME WORK!!!!
The open doors, inviting the eyes inside, to look beyond ... but not revealing. The thoughts it leaves, the imagination it stimulates ...
Jeez, the colours, the textures, the compo - this leaves me with a very happy and deep sigh - I love seeing work like this!
Well done - and I am hoping that those that award, will notice this!
Great stuff!

A great shot Dave! I dig the almost painted quality to the composition, the depth of field is terrific, the reddish log structure breaks what could have easily been a monochromatic theme...very nice!

Michael M.   {K:1194} 12/9/2004
Fabulous! A bit confusing at first, as I expected either the foreground or background to be inside (I saw the doors as barn doors). However, the incongruity makes the scene more interesting.
