About no PS... a lighter was used while the pic was still developing... left the frames out since the photo was too large for my scanner and could not include the upper one... all original scratches on paper remained...

Wow... Okay this is really an amazing effect you have applied. Very creative thinking. A mysterious figure with such a domineering presence. Their stature indicates an ego more enormous than the average person. It's a bit creepy because you have no idea what they are thinking as they stare at you. Holding the cigarette to the mouth and the side look like they just don't care what anyone is thinking, they will tell them how to think and make them believe. There is also an underlying sensual feeling to it. An overall mysteriousness that makes you wonder about this stranger and you find yourself just wanting to know more. Very interesting piece and very thought provoking. Well done, def. into my favs~~~

dear Stefan... what i did, was while the pic was starting to appear slightly in the develloping tank, i took it off it and with my lighter i let light burn it a bit more (all over the surface) before putting it back in the develloping tank (oh.. i just hope my english are good enough to understand what i want to describe)... then you get the effect you see... the only problem is that the final outcome is quite unpredictable (maybe the pic turns completely black or remains the same because the light was not enough)... it was my first experiment as well and i ruined some papers... i attach a semi-successful pic (worked on the upper part only)... it may show better than my words what i mean.... warm regards... :)

I don't think I understand what is going on here (especially after looking at the inverted image). I like it the effect here though. The dark hand makes me think of a glove. The cigarette and mask both have mysterious associations. Very interesting to me.

Solarization! I used have fun doing this in the wet darkroom also. This is one thing photoshop cannot do easily. Nice job.
