About What if one Winter evening I had not left the table without knowing precisely what I was doing, to walk into that elevator where [.] was stood with her back to me?
The cherished life that had been mine, in which I had finally become myself, was nothing more than a blind, tentative shoot in time's desultory ramification of possibilities.

Liquid Emulsion on W/C paper.

Aira, I like this work, you are so skilled with the image making and the words....it makes such a big difference for there to be more than just the image, it is uplifting to read what others see and write about.....well done, cheers, david.

Yes! I love liquid emulsion pictures and this one strikes a chord. I really like the brush marks, the "pool" effect on the left where I guess a little too much emulsion gathered. The subject, an intimate fragment, is lovely. I've been reading up on liquid emulsion techniques and will get into it in the new year, time allowing. I'm thrilled by the prospect of being able to bring colour into a B & W picture without all the chemical fiddling of toning. I'd love to see more of your liquid emulsion pictures! Rgds, Svend

The combination of sharp edges and the irregular brush opens up the image in one direction, much like the image itself. Beautiful technique...

Ciao Aira,
una foto decisamente inusuale anche per le condizioni in cui l'hai scattata (sempre che abbia capito bene;-)).
Complimenti per l'originalità.

I really like the "visible" brush here, this technique is lovely - but so much work. A great vision and about!

Ciao Aira,
l'effetto "spennellato" è molto bello e dona quel certo "non so che" che la rende ancor più artistica.

Scusa se non ti ho commentata prima ma ho dovuto terminare la traduzione del tuo about ;-)

Ciao

Liquid emulsion is nothing but "liquid light", namely a solid gelatin that once melted can be used to coat a number of surfaces and materials (paper, canvas, muslims, wood, perspex, glass...). Then you process like fiber-based paper. According to the brush and coating tecnique used, you can get to superb results. Only downside, you cannot split-grade printing and control contrast. Ciao, AM
