Dave, I'm so far behind I haven't read all the comments so if I repeat any please excuse me. I think it's a splendid shot, the textures seem so smooth an the background is spot on. Wel done!

Lovely crisp shot Dave - you've got the eyes perfectly focussed too.

You're lucky to have such animals to make phots from - over in the UK these are quite a rarity unless you go to Scotland.

Cheers

Ade

Thanks for the comment, Neil, and the look at your photo! It's great to be able to catch them in action, too, except the action is usually going away from you! I was lucky here, as it was a quiet time of day, and while the deer aren't tame, they aren't quite as skittish as totally wild ones out in the bush.
Dave.

Good nature study. Tell the deer not to wiggle her ears next time.

Beautiful Dave, the deers coat looks like silk in this photo, it stands out beautifully against the bare branches and the warm yellow tones coming throughout the forest. Alison

I really enjoyed this one Dave, I spend a lot of time viewing the deer in my area and this capture is excellent. The details are superb and I think you did a great job composing as well. Congrats, Bret

Great shot Dave, I guess you have to be real still to get one of these, I wouldn't be able to do it. Exposure came out good too. Very nice.

Beautiful Deer and the quality of this shot is excellent.
Very nice dof, just soft enough in the background to bring the deer to a great sharpness and still retaining great detail in the background to show the environment.
I love your title as well.
Well done.

One of my next assignments after I nail a decent picture of the Heron, is to capture some good photos of the wild Roe Deer that are on Greenham Common. The best I've managed so far is shown below. I've got a long way to go before I get something of the quality you have here.

Absolutely beautiful!! The colors, details, dof.. all perfect! We have deer everywhere here, in town even. They have become a big problem in town here. I see them killed on the road on almost a daily basis. They are much too beautiful to die.

I know in some areas these things are common as rats and just as destructive, but still, I'm glad there are places where they can live in peace and be seen and admired.
