About This is a photo of the Arbutus tree just in front of my home. The fog rolling in made this tree stand out in a way that really brought out the strength of this trees potential compositional possibilities. Normally there is mountains across the way which I found distracting. The fog simplified it for me.
This is a reposting. It was only on for a few moments before I noticed that it was less brilliant on the web site then in Photoshop on my PC. So I pulled it and pumped it up a bit hoping to correct this discrepancy

Hi Craig,
i only added a bit of contrast to the grass to get the feel of what it was like at the time.
Thanks for checking it out

Beautiful colours, Tim! Great contrast between the sauturation in the sky and tree and the fog and water on the left side. I like the way the sunlight catches the tree trunk and grass, too.

This shot also has that great light. I like the composition of which there are endless opportunities depending on the light of course. Fog is a wonderful background, doesn't allow the eye to find other things to observe.

Hi Hugo,

I'm not sire if the problem is here on my PC. I just installed a newer driver for my video card and am running at a higher screen resolution 1280x 1024. I didn't seem to have this problem before. Althogh i can't see how this would create such a discrepancy.
I guess we are all looking at images on our monitors that are set up differently for one to anothers and so may not be seeing the original as it was intended...such is life?!?! not much we can do about that.
Hey thanks for your opinion.

Hi Tim, That's one way to go about it...:) I'm not so sure if this is an improvement. The somewhat more desaturated tones were one of the elements that created the atmosphere in the previous one. The colours / tones also seem more unnatural to me now. In all fairness, it's still a very good shot, but I would've settled for the original one... Thanks for your reply.

Cheers,

Hugo
