I realize this was posted by you quite awhile ago, but I just saw it yesterday on the Home Page. Are those stars in the blue part of the sky and right near the moon? 1/30 shutter speed seems fast to have star trails. Also, the brightness of the moon would wash out any nearby stars, I figure. Watching the moon rise can be such a peaceful experience. Do you remember what time you took this? Was it a full moon? Neat idea for a shot catching the moon just beginning to rise over a hill. MAry

Hi Matt, thanks for the compliment. Actually the moon wasn't all that large when it came up over the hill. Between focusing on the electric pole and some over exposing, it made the moon appear much larger than it actually was in real life.

Great shot hugo, congrats on photo of the day. I wonder: how did you manage to get the moon exposed so large?

Hi Kurt,This is something amazing. It has something very graphic over it, as well as something spooky. Very powerful image, and perfectly exposed.
Cheers,
Hugo
