Seems so out of place. And the red of the can amongst that foliage and building background works very well. Whos says not to look around for interesting, unintentionally "posed" junk.

Good photograph, in my opinion.

Thanks for all the advice about my upgrading my Canon in the digital camera forum. I am waiting to see what the 30Ds look like when they come out. Or actually, what my wallet looks like at the time.

Thanks,
Dave

Whoops! Sorry. I was unclear. I wasn't thinking that you placed the can there. I was thinking more in terms of not removing the weeds or trying to shoot with a clearer view of the can (i.e. closer up). That's all part of planning the shot.

Regarding why you happened to be on the side of the road, that might be considered "tmi" hee hee hee

Once again, nice image!

Hi Sue,

Thank you for your comment, and the 'solution' to the 'mystery' lol...

Re: Planning....

I never touched the can (I swear!). If you want the honest truth, I pulled over onto the side of the road, jumped out for a bit of *relief* and on my way back to the car saw it sitting there. Having my trusty camera on me, of course, I took a few shots.

Thanks again...

Looks like it helps people with airplane engines. :-)

Cool picture, Anthony. Good planning having the can partially obscured.

Nice still life, good composition, and one can only wonder about "Marvel Mystery Oil" and ponder the advertising they used ... :) Good eye!
