Corrie, you can download a demo version of neat image, free of cost at Neatimage.com. As far as an DSLR goes, I agree with you. I have the Fuji Finepix S5000 and it really isn't good in low lighting. I plan on getting an SLR also at some point, and the Nikon D70 is the one I have in mind. But I see some awesome images on here from the canon's also. Your best best is to go to a store and actually feel them. See what's comfotable for you. If your scanner scans negatives, that would probably help also.
no....i dont have neat image...what is it? Im so new to anything to do with computer software for photos. Any tips would be wonderful. I'm also looking to possibly buy a digital camera and im not sure where to start. I want an slr..its a must. I have a friend who likes her digital camera but sais it just plain stinks in low lighting...its a fugi finepix but im not sure what one. Any suggestions on what i should start looking for?
