About Here is an interesting part of the badlands, note there are no peaks rising above the average elevation, but rather the ground level has "sunk" to various levels below average ground level.

Before I read your about I was thinking how different this is to your other Badlands shots Jim. To be there and view the whole scene must be mind boggling. Fantastic colours.

Fabulously warm and rich colours set off by the bright sky. Excellent capture of the details ... yet another awesome image.

Great photo. The landscape reminds me of some that I saw in Northern Spain, where I couldn't help thinking that the scenery was caused by something like what you've described here. Whether it was I have no idea. But it's interesting how many places in the world are similar in one way or another, with slight variations making them unique.

What struck me the most over there was that the tops were lush green pastures whereas in the valleys it was barren and rocky. And also, the valleys just eventually disappeared!

I also wasn't blessed with the great lighting that you got to make such a nice picture!
Cheers,
Marc

Interesting, thanks for the info.
This is really pretty, layers of color and textures.

Gorgeous colors, and nice composition. I like not seeing a lot of sky in this image.
