About Taken just after sunset. For all who asked, it was 1sec. @ f22. I used a Cokin ND grad over the sky portion. I focused on the farthest part of the foreground rocks (the hyperfocal technique, or roughly 1/3rd into the scene since most new AF lenses do not have a depth of field scale to accurately set the hyperfocal distance, shame). This ensures that everything from the nearest rock to infinity will be in focus! And of course a tripod. Every aspiring landscaper should learn this technique. I found a useful calculator tool here: http://www.dofmaster.com/custom.html

Great image, fabulous light and using all my favourite techniques - ND grads and hyperfocal distance. I think it might have been possible to make a different and equally strong shot by getting down closer to the foreground rocks to increase their prominence.

guess atfer sunset means slow exposure, small aperture and tripod so you judged this exposure really well, great details especially in the foreground, nice atmosphere and of course superb composition.
