Hey Judi - it depends what you're looking for : as a web image i prefer the first post but if you were going to print it i think you would have to use the second to finish the piece.

Very nicely done! I see what you are telling me. Thanks. I would like to understand the softening effect, and what you have done. I think I see the white layer you mention..........

Thanks SD. I actually did another version but I wasn't sure which to put up. Maybe you might be able to tell me which is better. See below. Judi

Beautiful shot Judi and really like the way you've framed it - very original. It allows to water to flow right out of the picture

Thanks Ameed, the front softening was using an eraser brush set on chalk and a step of 10. I also had a white background layer to assist in ensuring I didn't leave any pixels behind that would detract from the edging. Hope that helps. Judi

Larry, thankyou for your comment. The reason the sides are different lengths is I made them to follow the edge of the banks. If you have a look you will notice the right bank is higher than the left hence the framing. Also I made the stream curve slightly at the front to follow the water flow. Judi

Nice capture Judi, the way you ended the framing is really original and very well done, is it a manual softening?

So this is a rain forest type thing, ok. Frame without bottom, I see you are doing something a bit different. One question tho, why is the right side of frame a bit shorter?? I like the total effect.

Thankyou Marie. The area this was taken is very beautiful. It is the entrance to where all the butterflies are. Judi

Thankyou Teunis. I wasn't entirely happy with this one. I got interrupted with a visitor so just had to put it up as is. Judi
