Toby,
My wife and I attend the New York Renaissance Festival yearly. We usually stop at the Tiffany Diner for some cheesecake. I'd like to see your picture of the diner.

I love diners, too. You did a nice job with it-- I'm not bothered by the slight blur, I've found that I tend to be slightly blurry myself when I visit diners, since it's usually on the road at a late hour... the blur IS the diner!

I like diners also, we have a neat one near our house, 'Studio Diner' looks a lot like this one. You did a nice job on this, Lori :)

Hi Jim
Diners rock! they are part of the American history, something you won't find anywhere else.
regarding the technical side, you lost some detail in the lights here. the meter system probably weighted the bolder parts too much. easy to say afterwards =)
anyway, nice capture.

Nice night shotJim. Great colours and a superb capture (especially given the limitations of the equipment!). People say the equipment doesn't make a difference to a good photographer and to a certain extent thats true. Well done!

I love night photography, so I can recognize excllence when I see it. I like the color plus the shadowy areas showing the deeper parts of the diner. It's hard to capture bright colors at night, without losing the shadows. I'd like to see someone standing on the steps to the right, or perhaps peering out the window; but maybe that would spoil the image.
Great shot!

Rakhmat, As I mentioned to Hakan, one of the joys of the Internet is that it brings people from distant places closer together. What is your native language and where are you from?

Hakan,
No problem with your "bad English." Your English is far better than I could do with your language (and I don't even know what it is - let alone speak it). One of the joys of the Internet is that it brings people from distant places closer together. What is your native language and where are you from?

Rakhmat (did I say your name right?)
Thank you for the kind words. This camera is a small pocket camera, I think it's called the Ixus in Europe; they call it the ELPH in the US. It is completely automatic and very small (it will fit in my shirt pocket (but it's a bit heavy for that :-) The lens is built in and there is no way to change it.

Hakan, (is this the proper way to address you?)
The EXIF information for the picture says it was taken at f2.8 and 1/8 second. The Canon S400 is completely automatic, there is no way to set the f-stop or shutter speed. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

No, i dont agree with you! I think aperture is not true value! I think it must be at least f 11. Because it was been like that your capture could be more clear! But in that time your shutter speed was been at least 2 seconds or 4 seconds. Is it right?! Regards... (Sorry for my bad English!)
