I hope I didn't offend you, but unfortunately I live in romania for 42 years, since I was born. And I really mean it when I say "unfortunately". And I can assure you that not all the people here who speak hungarian is really hungarian. My wife is hungarian, by consequence my daughter is half hungarian. I know a little bit about what is going on in romania. If you will do further research you may be suprised. But, I bet I know more about americans than you know about romania or its minorities.
OK, let's not argue, I like the photo and let's see the artistic part of it.

Hi Florin, The family in that image was hungarian, not cigany. My Heritage is hungarian, and I was raised in a culture that supported differences admist people and communities. Saying that one family that lives in poor conditions is Hungarian, is by no means a generalization on ALL hungarians. "Anyway, what you did, is the purest american way of superficially presenting facts. " This was your comment, but I find that a quick and uncompassionate judgement about a culture that it seems you do not have enough information on. Generalizations of any culture, be it American, Hungarian, Romanian, is a dangerous thing, and is one of the reasons why there is so much cruelty and war in the world today. By any means, I appreciate your comments and your thoughts.

Syrie,
I'm not a fan of romania, but I found the information you give about this phot completely false. This doesn't look like a hungarian family to me, ti rather looks like a gipsy family, which is not the same. Hungarians are working people, they live in rich and nice villages and I have a huge respect for them.
If I am wrong and if this is really a hungarian family, then it is an exception and is not at all representative for hungarians.
To be accurate, you also should mention the village where this photo was taken.
Anyway, what you did, is the purest americat way of superficially presenting facts.
Beside this notes, I like you interesting and rich in emotions portfolio.
Kind Regards

Most interesting to me is the two quite different messages the two looks are giving you -- the younger child is so much more trusting of you and gives you her joy -- the other older sister is more reserved yet gives you her pain --her waiting -- they both are one in the way they fiddle with their fingers -- such a gesturing speaks much -- this photgraph reveals your existential sensitivity to the human -- and also their trust of you as someone truly interested in them. Syrie, this is excellent photo-journalism. Worthy I believe of Nat Geo.

While I read the photo description I begin to realise that you was here, in my country... I hope it was a pleasant experience, or at least unique... even if i don't know much about it, just some details you slip with your images. Welcome back, Sirie!
