Nice warm image. Very familiar looking and typical of what I might see in carpet shop. That's why I like it so much...I only wish there was a bit more light in his eyes. That would improve things just a bit and make the character more life-like. Ah, but I know it's impossible sometimes unless you do something drastic like use a reflector and shine it right into their eyes and bother them and ruin the shot.

Very nice, Ned, and of course very interesting! Both the photo and your text around it, AND that you so easily confront strangers and dare to take photos of them!
I really like his expression, and the way he is posing shows that he is proud of the carpets. Beautiful colours and details! Personally I think I would have cropped a little bit on top, not because the carpet is not interesting, but I think the composition could maybe be better if his head was higher up.
