If only all we (both alike) wish for could come true! I know Sharon is a changed man, looking for a pacticable way of separating us from the Palestinians, but unfortunately for the time being I'm afraid we still need the fence. I was in Zurich a second time on my way to England in 1969 and I had a dream in which Zurich was covered by water. I think it symbolized that Zurich was a part of my past and I was looking towards the future in England, which, indeed, turned out to be a turning point of major importance in my career as a psychotherapist. Best regards, Rafi

Thank you so much for your comment Mr Springmann! First I?d like to tell you, where you have to place me. And as I know from your details, my hometown isn?t unfamiliar to you, because it?s Zurich! But so far I didn?t put any photos of Zurich but quite a lot of the Brittany in France because we nearly spend all our holidays there. Therefore Chartres is familiar to me, as well (see my photo: ?candles for whom?? I?m about to look for Laughton?s descriptions! I made my comment on Gary Spillane?s ?another long day at work? and referred there on your comment on the same photo! Of course, I?m aware of the fact that you live in Israel; nevertheless I thought my comment on "Green iron fence". was adequate even more because I expressed my hopes. Even the most complexe situation needs this bit of hope, otherwise we are lost. That?s why I wish that walls and fences can be tore down ? not only in Berlin ? but everywhere! Maybe I?m a naïve fool ? but if this isn?t our aim for the future, what will it be then? PS: The "Geneva Accord" could be such a piece of hope because with the "Geneva Accord" civil society has been able to prove that there are partners for peace on both sides.
Kind regards Franz

This seems to be our first meeting on the pages of UF, Mr. Thoma. From your photos I tried to locate you, but of those I opened some were taken in France and some in Switzeland, so I don't know where to place you. I took the oportunity to look through your whole portfolio and read as many of your comments as I could. I could not find out which comment on Gary Spillane you meant, nor find my comment in which I wrote "quality". Perhaps you can be so kind as to guide me. I opted to comment on your excellent "blue rose" because it reminded me of the famous vitraged of the Cathedral in Chartre, which I tried to take photos of many years ago, unsuccessfully because of lack of adequate light measuring and of the wonderful description of these vitrages by the late Charles Laughton. Thank you for your complex comment on my "Green iron fence". I'm afraid that in a country in which each school, each cinama, each wedding and I could go on endlessly must have an armed guard, fences are still vital. Mine, as you correctly remarked (and I paraphrase) is merely decorative, but others are, unfortunately, necessary. Best regards, Dr. Rafael (Rafi) Springmann

Très pur et beaucoup de force. On se laisse à examiner le détail des motifs. La netteté du ciel bleu derrière lui donne un aspect éthéré unique et captivnt. Le cadrage est parfait de même que l'exposition.
