Beautiful picture. Great composition, and colors. I feel like if it were me, I would crop the top yellow tone area out of the photo, but I might have been wrong to do so, however, this is an outstanding photo. Well deserved of the award.

I think I now know what it is that "bugs" me about this. The bright sunlight on the land, compared to the 99,9% of the pond being in the shade.
Having said that - I want to confirm my earlier comment ... this is still a wonderful image with a great capture of the colours and details.

Your suggestion is another possibility. What I am playing with in this case is the eye grabbing attention of complimentary colors (blue/orange) creating a zing in my photograph. I also felt that it needed just a touch of grounding for my eye as a reference. Maybe I'm being to conservative in my view, so your comment brings me to look at it with more possibilities in mind. I would like to see the shrubery on the land out of the image - but then what about it's reflection? Could one get away with just reflection? Apart from that, stunning colours.
