Excellent photo, Kess! For being your 'first' black and white I'd say you nailed it pretty well! You have a good range of tones and it fits the mood nicely. The layered mountains fading into the background are great, and I really like the diagonal of the beach that leads the eye to the strolling couple. I think it would benefit from a little sharpening to make it 'pop' more.
You've definitely got a good eye!
