Thanks everyone for your comments. I think in retrospect that it might have been a better photo if I had cropped out the actual flash in my hand. If I was to do it over, though, I would keep it so my eyes were not in the shot.

Camera on Tripod in complete darkness. Opened shutter on "B" setting, using a manual shutter cable to keep it open. Stumbled around in the dark, sat down in the chair and used my flash on the "test" setting to get an exposure of me in the chair. Moved away from the chair and used the flash on "test" setting to expose the chair again, thus making my exposed image transparent. Most difficult thing about the shot was not moving the chair.
