About This was a strange shot...
I was in an "interrogation room", with double sided mirrors on two walls, where the subject can be viewed and studied during interrogation. Creepy.
I was thinking about the "Blurry Image" series, and thought I would try catching myself jumping in front of the mirrors. None of them came out the way I wanted; but I thought this one came out in a very peculiar way....it looks like I'm hanging. Which seemed fitting, considering the environment that I was in. Disturbing, perhaps??

Ian added so much to this photo with his very informative comments. I agree with his assessment ?Ironically your character makes his suicide in the burnt out shell at the area where his truth may have been told? I also agree with Michelle?s ?uplifting? comment LOL. I typically don?t care for blurry images category although; I think that this is a excellent candidate for the effect. Looks like something one would see just before one lost consciousness while being hanged. Yes, It?s disturbing! Additionally, I thought it was very refreshing to read in your comment that you tried a few others that didn?t work out, which happens to me more often than not. It?s not until I get home and look on the ?big screen? until I realize that some of the snapshots turn out to be better than the planned exposures. Also, it?s nice to see that other photographers are using the photo projects on this site to enhance their skills, I know I do.

Hmm right then!
Did it have a phone on the wall?
If it did then it was a small enclave of anti psychiatry!

Generally these days the institutions are so small that they are all controlled i.m.h.o. by the thoroughly useful reliable and outcomes proven medical journals and drug company pamphlets.
That's what you want for your tax or insurance dollar is outcomes.
BUT in these huge institutions though there was room for the revolutionaries to hide (they wouldn't get funded today in New Zealand at least). People who'd say for example that medical science is Newtonian and hadn't accomodated Einstein. Who might get the family together and tell the patient NOT to change or whatever (check out Jay Haley, Bateson, Watzlawick Milan it is very funky stuff)

In this room the family secrets would come out. That unspoken factor that perhaps the illness was locked up by.
Ironically your character makes his suicde in the burnt out shell at the area where his truth may have been told!

Ian, not only do I appreciate your thoughtful, and kind remarks, you also add what I consider to be, very constructive insight to the world that I am exploring. I value your contribution a great deal; thank you!

Disturbing yes.
Interestingly it may have been a family therapy room. Do ya want to know about that? It blew me away when I was a student nurse.
If we define ourselves by our relationships, for example, then if our relationships aren't changed we are not allowed to change. Sometimes it was a chance for people, who have been incarcerated for a peiord then return to a family system that was frozen up, only to haver a crisis and be incarcerated again, to be allowed to grow. The guy behind the mirror was ON THEIR SIDE protected from whatever family force was maintaining the status quo.

I like the lines that look like rain. This looks like a very twisted impressionistic painting. Really just a wild shot...
