I like that macro feel of this composition as well as the choice to go with the sepia tint. (looks like sepia to me at least) Once again you have managed to capture another personality of this sanitarium. It?s symbolic, looks like graphic depiction of a single patients diagnosis to me though.. If I understand the symbolism correctly that is (it?s all interpretative though, this is just my opinion) This patient seems to be suffering from an overwhelming emotional trauma, a ruined life, Shattered dreams, obsolete goals and false perceptions and no way to repair it. This is structure and foundation of his life and it?s ruined, this disaster is ill reversible! The broom is hope and hope is broken. ~Mike

I love Stephen's interpretation of: The broken broom will sweep no more, laid carefully on the shattered ruins of so many lives ...
While here my mind's first thought was that it will take much more than a broken broom to clean up that mess. :) You've done great in capturing the details, wonderful~

Hi Brad,
I am delighted to have the honor of being the first to comment on your excellent photo.
Like your previous Asylum photos, this one is beautiful and evocative. You have a great knack of finding and isolating compelling images from what others would only see as a chaotic mess.
The broken broom will sweep no more, laid carefully on the shattered ruins of so many lives ...
Best regards, SteveR
