Ahhh yes Craig, the incursion of Man....I debated on cloning that part out but though for the integrity of the photo and the location that I would just have to live with it.

Hi Tim; I agree with others-- this is an outstanding landscape with incredibly rich detail and colors. Also your composition is superb-- the "S" curve in the water leads the eye into the distance. In a shot of this quality, it's only a bit unfortunate that the road cutbank shows up so prominently in the upper left. Perhaps others don't notice it, but I was a forest soil scientist for 32 years and I've looked at about a billion road locations-- before and after construction-- so I'm probably over sensitized to it. Never the less, a wonderful landscape that I certainly would be proud to have taken too. Cheers. Craig

i usually make a choice in my photos to have a strong fore ground or a strong sky but try to avoid both as it makes it hard in some cases to allow the focus of the image to maintain it's power.
Thanks ken for your interest

Hi Jim, Art beacon looks very interesting I will definitely look into it a little more closely. We are in the process of moving in the next month so I can't put to much attention into it right now.
Is this your business? Is so I think it is great! I have made many sales through the internet via galleries and also have some prints available too.
Thanks again, Tim

Hi Jim, I did that too but still found that it didn't look right to my eye. The next thing I would try out I think, would be to clone in some rock right next to the light area and then adjust the light on that spot afterwards.
Thanks for the offer on the web spot I'll check it out. but as it is I can't paint fast enough as it is. I have allot of demand from the galleries I'm in at the moment .... but he you just never know the art world is very fickle

Here is what it looks like with a mask applied and 25% exposure on the burn tool.

Ok, Ok, Mark.....I forgot to include instructions on the method of viewing this image. You need to tilt the monitor 2 degrees up to the right....LOL. yeah I noticed the lean a little to late and have to live with it now...... Oh well imperfection is good for the Ego.
Thanks for the heads up
Ciao, Tim

Applying a mask to the blown out area and then applying the burn tool would do the job. With some careful work it can be done quite seemlessly. I have actually visited your site before. I have it loaded now and will look around more. I welcome you to visit my site http://www.artbeacon.com and create a store to sell your work. You can add it to your site or use it as a stand alone site. I'd be happy to talk to you about the service more offline if interested.

Hi Jim, I agree with you and I had darkened it a bit but it is very close to being blown out. So when I toned it down it just looked weird. I'm sure if my PS skills were better I could have done a better job. I try to keep my eyes from being confused in these situations mostly. When it becomes a painting I will address this for sure.
Take a look at my web site of paintings if you feel inclined.

Thanks for the comment, Jim

This is one of the places I'd like to photograph in the future. Breathtaking. Is it me, or is the horizon tilted? It's making me dizzy. I like it, though.

Very nice Tim, my thoughts echo what has already been said, great location, great capture - you are lucky to be able to take 'work trips' to such locations, and then create masterful paintings from your masterful photos!

Spectacular shot. You might consider burning the highlighted rock face, in the back left of your image, just a bit so that it doesn't pull the viewers eye away from Mt. Rundle on the back right of your image. That hotspot is a magnet for my eye.

Absolutely stunning from the reflecting water to the rocky hill and stand of trees to the majestic mountains and those wonderful heavy clouds. Colours are magnificent. Resembles an oil painting.

This is so exceptionally shot, it seems like a dreamland or a painting instead of a mere photograph. The reflections in the water are icing on the cake.

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique stunning landscape shot! i think the elements i like most about are the line of pine trees in the back that great nice contrast with the sky and mountains, and also the transition from the blurred reflection of the trees to the perfectly clear reflections of the clouds in the water! great work! Kessia

I love it all - from the gorgeous light, to the dramatic sky, to the soft sky reflections in the fore water, to the rugged mountains. My eye is led through every part of the frame beautifully and every bit of the viewfinder beholds beauty. A very well put together landscape.
