Another sample of experiences with light. Here there's mainly natural light from a big window (no direct light, the Sun wasn't entering it) and some tungsten. I like the skin tones but the shirt overexposed more than I'd planned. And the light on the wall creates an interesting studio look. There's a nice grain to it also, but I'm afraid it was reduced when resizing. The pose is part of an idea for a series someday I may return to. Scanned directly from negative.
Hi Zandra, welcome back! Really missed one of the members I admire most. Thanks for the comment. The grain is not really grain but some artifact that appeared during the size reduction. I had to do some Photoshop work on this image thanks to its VERY extreme exposure range. I believe when working on this somewhat it became more sensible to size reduction, specially when pixels reduction is involved. The original negative scan is 15.2 cm x 10.2 cm at 300dpi. It's really very nice, I don't have any of these artifacts. But sometimes, the info gremlins are more active, you know... What's USM? Some kind of noise to lessen these artifacts?
I've been working a lot recently, have not had much time to shoot. Or even scan images to post here. I get home late at night and all I wanna do is sleep. It's been hard even to see my kids, and that's really bad. But I believe this is only a moment, soon time will come for newer images.
Meanwhile, I hope to keep admiring beauty through your vision which I find very special. Hope everything's fine with you too and that you've been away for no serious reason, Zandra.
Have been away for a while, but now i am back and i-m having the pleasue to browse your new postings ;)
I liek this one in spite of the slight overexposure on the shirt. i like how you have cropped her. It add more mysterie to it. I can see a slight grain and i think the origional is probably even better. How did you down size? Did you do it in steps, you losse less details that way. Just add some USM in between the steps.
