Hi Ken, surfing on UF I learned a lot . There are different way to take a self portrait depending on the mood you want to transmit. I noticed that I'm attracted by the portrait where not all the face is in the frame. As before, give a look in my portfolio, you can find some examples. Try also to look to Tamara Loncar or Mikael Leijon portfolios
BTW I rate you 7 because you wanna learn and you are ready to keep suggestions! Be careful with the focus , the first from the left is my preferred ;) Bye

Well, the focus was done manually, no autofocusing, so all my fault. Please take into consideration my first attempt it being. Thanks anyway!

I agree with buzz on the sharpness and focus of the pic on the left and it not being on the right. The split is fine, the mood is thoughtful, the gaze intent with the one on the left being a little more relaxed. Super in B/W, handsome model and great idea.

I went with a split shot because there are two shots of this person, and i think they worked well together. HES PRODDING MY CAMERA WITH HIS BOARD! WHY? BECAUSE HES CRAZZY!

not sure why you went with the split shot... its ok but does not work for me....the face on the left is sharp and focused...but the one on the right is not. The compo on both are ok but I would perfer to see what the guy was doing in the shot on the left..a little more context
