About I took this last year, and was unhappy with the colour balance (think the airport X-rays got to it!) but I managed to correct this, and I like the view itself. Perfect for panorama format!

Incredible view, I like it.
Love these panaramas!
Good lighting, and I think the colors go
well with this scene!

Ah. Bertram, don't I just WISH it could have been with you there in Paris! My photographer friend in Japan has just been appointed to his company's Shanghai office, so I will be missing him like h***. Perhaps one day we two can meet in Europe? I still look forward to cycling with you and your wife to a nearby vineyard and sampling the local wines! One day, perhaps!!!

Perfect shot, I love this camera. Wish it would have been my companion in Paris.

What a magnificent view and such great sharpness and details. I can see your frustration when a capture like this is ruined. The lighting by the sun shows considerable variation, making it tough to get an overall excellent result, you managed that very well. I consider the whole as a successful photo. Regards, Rob.

My, my! What sharp eyes you have, Baki! Those are not reflections on the surface of the river... I look the picture through the windows of London's "Big Wheel," and I think what you can see are the effects of reflections inside the gondola from the other windows round about. They weren't thinking of photographers when they designed that thing!

very good capture Roger,
just for the panorama format as you said..
composition is very rich, and sharpness is great, but What are those unusual reflections on the surface of sea Roger?

You're right, Roger ~ as is Carolyn!
Perfect for the panorama format and a thumbnail that doesn't really entice you to look at what is a superb photo.
I never cease to be amazed at the sharpness of your uploads without them deteriorating in overall quality!
This is a spectacular view of this historic part of the capital.
Excellent work and thank you for your kind thoughts re. Carole ~ much appreciated!
Best regards, Chris

Yes, George, Fuji makes the XPan OEM for Hasselblad and sells it under its own brand in Japan (considerably cheaper, thank goodness) as the TX-1. I scan the negatives with an Epson flatbed scanner and transparency adaptor. This is fine for the web, but just barely satisfactory for A4 size prints... The Fuji 800 film is truly amazing. Better than the best 400 ISO films of a few years ago.

Thanks, Ted. Your portfolio is very varied, with some fascinating images. I'll be back for a leisurely look around when I have the time to do them justice...

This is terrific. I'm surprised at the sharpness of this photo with 800 speed film. Is your camera similar to the Hasselblad XPAN? How do you scan the negatives?

Hi Roger; I agree, this is a perfect use of the panorma format. The sweep and scale is magnificent. I can only imagine this in a large print. A wonderful view and I'm glad you were able to save it. Cheers. Craig

The thumbnail doesn't do this justice.
The compositon, detail and lighting are perfect!
