What a great shot, I think it sometimes helps to not be able to do what we normally do, gets you itching to get something and start to look more. It is fantastic congrats on the award. Margaret

Rebecca, I think when you start using the burn tool things will take off from there. Thats what happened with me. I had PS Elements on my computer for 2 years... dinked around a bit... I even knew the power that the program could achieve, yet I didn't unleash this untill I wanted to know what the heck that hand in the tool munu was. I have'nt stopped learning and I love PS!

Aimee, I've had PS elements for aout a 6 months, but had an old version called PS home edition 3.0 from years back. I could never do anything but size a picture or hit the insta fix button. Still don't know how to do anything with layers, or " dodge and burn" as they call it. I'm trying to learn new things tho. I can add saturation, or brightn or add contrast etc.. I also use a few stock filters..

Wonderful simple composition, Rebecca! To me, one of the great joys of photography is finding beauty in the mundane - just what you've done here! This is a great idea for a series - the corners that aren't 'fixed up' to present what the owner wants others to see, but that tell more about the person... Congratulations on the BIP!!

A great idea .... "hidden corners", and a great pic. Still not too fond of those add-on frames though.

Hi Rebecca, very original shot. I like the saturated tones alot. The fence and garden create a very nice and genuine scene. Just what a hidden corner of a garden should look like. Very good shot, and congratulations with the BIP!
Cheers,
Hugo

Yes, and hidden corners of our minds. Maybe that is why this site is so satisfying - we can reveal these little items we find so interesting and beautiful without fear of being ridiculed for having pedestrian tastes and inept technique. So I certainly wouldn't call you crazy. I think it's wonderful that you noticed this, that you had the skills to make a beautiful compostion of it, and that had the time to share it. I love it.

Hidden corners is a great idea. We all have hidden corners around our homes don't we? I have far too many. It would be a great idea for a USEFILM project. Thanks for your comments and as always I love all your pics.

Excellent, beautiful vivid colours and compostion. OMG Rebeccca, you and I are of the same ilk especially when we get bored. My 'Secret Garden" is similar to this and it appealed to me for who knows why. It is also a neighbour's backyard, down on the far left corner. She wasn't even home when I took the pic, I just wandered through her back yard looking for something to shoot. Thank goodness her and I are good friends.
