Congratulations, Cindi -- I think your instinctive framing is excellent -- your catching hold of this "decisive moment" and your framing of this existential moment in the lives of these two boys is right on the button - I would not crop it as Hugo suggests -- the hand holding on to the back of the bike helps suggest the movement -- the adventure -- having the back wheel I believe is also important to the story and the connection of boys and wheels of which this capturing candid celebrates the beginning --it is your rendering of the diagonal lines of the handle bar and the curb stone that make your photograph dynamic -- Cindi, keep trusting your instinctive embrace -- it is your giftedness as a seer at work! It is what makes you the photographer (the writer with light) that you are -- it is what earns you this honor just awarded.

Hi Cindi, I like the old "Kodak Chrome" tone over this image. Also, the interaction between the two kids are perfectly captured, almost rendering the periferal objects redundant. The seemingly hasty style of composition corresponds with the action and dynamism in this scene. Works perfectly for me.
There's a self centeredness in this shot, that makes it very strong. That's mainly because of the interaction between the two kids. Very strong and joyful. Great capture!
As for the composition, have you considered a landscape format? As the details in the chrome and the bike are periferal, I think the tension, movement and interaction could also be captured in a different composition, emphasising the horizontal lines more.
