Absolutely beautiful Stace, makes me sick that you didn't even get out of the car :) ... Some people suffer for a decent shot like this. Just teasing. Once again, beautiful!

Regards,
Ciprian

a few people have mentioned that I needed to get out of the car to take the shot.. Well, I had taken plenty of shots outside of the car already, and was fully drenched and cold as a witch's --- (not to mention, so were my two young boys). It was originally just a fun trip to the beach.. I wasn't really prepared for rain [it had been in the 80's for 3 days prior], and didn't have an umbrella to protect my digital.. and my coat pocket wasn't much better than just holding it out in the rain. I really thought I was going to ruin it that day!

I chose this shot though, because in all of the others, you couldn't tell how cold and wet it really was -without the raindrops on the windshield.. Maybe in a couple where the sand was wet and shiney, but the view of the ocean wasn't very good -not very "moody".

So, there you have it.. Thank you so much, everyone, for looking and taking the time to comment though :)

:)Stace

Great shot - how about a bit of effort :-)
Like out of the car, walk to the beach - get really drenched and cold - you know that mad photographer kind of thing.
Really shows of the coast.

Beautiful....I am so 'there' just looking at it...I could actually 'feel' the dampness....great art.

Welcome to the Oregon coast, pretty much year round...

This is a good photo for project 42, but in my opinion, you should have gotten out of the car to photograph this. Maybe having the fence in this is ok, but that picnic table has got to go. The rest of the photo is beautiful, looks like Monument Valley in the ocean, but I really think the other stuff is just detracts from the natural beauty. 5

stace, excellent composition! don't you love it when you can shoot great photos without even getting out of the car? thos e are some of my favorites. good job positioning the car. the rain spots are not bothersome at all. matter of fact, i think they add to the feel of the composition. i can almost feel the mist and rain on my face. excellent photo!

take care,
tom

I honestly didn't think this would have turned out when I took the picture.

I think this is exceptional. The different size rocks at various distances combined with the haze give a great feeling of depth. The uniform grey-bluish color gives unity. And the small running waves throw a dash of dynamism for contrast in an otherwise serene scene.

Dear Stace, this is a marvellous composition - it's really perfect. Congratulation for this fantastic shot - the colors, the mood and your selected view are incredible. Great work!
