Excellent camera position, very good DOF, exposure is right on. If you come back to this area, situate a tripod right where it is, and make exposures at different times of the day, from dawn to dusk. I'm just curious how the light would fall during different times.

Well, you succeeded! I've been there (it was about 50? C at the time) and i think you captured the atmosphere (though it's late in the afternoon, isn't it?), as in yout other photo's of Death Valley.

Tom,
I like the richness of the colors in this--it's a beautiful scene. You did a great job of capturing the ruggedness of the landscape here. There is so much to see, so many subtle color changes and depth in the image.
Regards, Anne

Yeah, Tom! what a breathtaking view. I like the composition of the mountains, from bottom to top leading the eye in a nice curve towards the lower part in the landscape in he distance. Compared to the previous shots, I think the omission of a specific object / eyecatcher is something I miss, although it does emphasise the vastness of DV. It's a "tension" thing. The lighting, again, is very good.... With every shot, DV rises higher and higher on my "places to visit" list....;o)
Cheers,
Hugo
