Great shot! You can see a bit of the smoke as you go up the crevice, adding a nice effect. I'd like to see some of the other shots from that time!!

Uluru is the original aboriginal name for what became knows as "Ayers Rock." There is lots of information and a more conventional picture of it at http://www.crystalinks.com/ayersrock.html.
Unfortunately, my longer shots of Uluru did not come out well. There were extensive bush fires in the area and the air was thick with smoke.
