About While taking this photo and a few others like it, I realized why there aren't a lot of floral macros taken from this angle - it's painful! Another contortionist act, but I think it was worth it. A bit more fill light would have been nice, but to take a photo from the sunnier side would have required the equipment and ability to rappel. PS work: colour correction and cloning out of giant lamp post. I wanted to take out the building as well, but it was too difficult without removing the rest of the tulips. Hopefully it's not too distracting way off in the bg. Filter: close-up X2

pain is rewarding sometimes, and images like this makes it easier for us to kneel down or lay on the ground next time we find ourselves in 'floral areas' :-)
funny that, but i cant help thinking that i'd prefer that cloned out lamp post as the distracting element of the image, instead of the building :-P
be happy Becky!

Flower shots from the best angle: flower-level.

Well done for the hard work, as it has paid off beautifully. This is a very high-impact shot.

A wonderful picture. I like the colors and the contrasts between them.

Ah, the Lilliputian's view of the world! :) This is so nicely done, Becky! The building aside, the composition of the flowers and the lighting on them is wonderful - for some reason, I really like that the foremost flower, with the bright stem, is incomplete. It's as though it shares the spotlight with it's neighbor, with the beautiful flower cup but shadowed stem - together they show a complete picture.
I do think that ideally I would rather see no building, since it takes away some of the 'graphical-ness' of the shot, but I have to say this is excellent regardless!

The building would be ok to me if there was a context for it, but compared to an image completely without anything but uniform blue sky there, I think I prefer this. This *is* a great perspective and very nicely composed overall.

Becky, I love the angle of this shot. The building is very distracting, but having read about the conditions, I understand.
