Simple and effective, Ken! Stunning lighting, creating a very strong atmosphere. The diagonal composition from lower left to the upper right leads the eye nicely to the house. Great shot, my compliments!

Thank you Chris. It is a pleasant surprise. Its very generous of admin team to put one of my image on the front for 24 hours. Its even more surprising that only a few months ago I was chosen for POTD and now its the 2nd time arround !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Must be something wrong with the machine which does the selecting.

Jon, Thank you. Glad to know you have taken up flying seriously. Perhaps we could meet some day in the air. I am seriously thinking of flying a chesna all the way from Ireland to India. Hopefuly next year. Had to apply for visas for atleast 10 countries.

Congratulations on POTD! An excellent image and even more so for the trouble you took to get it!
Beautifully saturated colours, nice stormy skies with an extremely well lit foreground. I love the shadow of the horse too! Well done!

Hi Angelo, Thank you for the warm words. Incidently I got booked by the police today for a different offence(speeding) on the motorway !!!!! at the same place where I took this shot. Well some day I had to be caught for what I did to click this snap. It happened to be just today when this image is on the front page !!!. I think I should be barred from that M1 motorway altogether.

One disadvantage of the still image is that it comes free of other sensorial input which can give context, such as noises, smells etc.
In this case, this has been used to good advantate. Without all the noise of the blaring horns and irate drivers shouting expletives at you, this image gives a serene feeling.
If you hadn't told us about your irresponsible road behaviour, one could have assumed this was taken in some tranquil and idyllic remote spot in the Emerald Island.
So, congratulations for the great mood and beautiful image. And I hope it was worth the risk you took...
