About Despite the chaos and turmoil in the region, life goes on as usual for many. This groundskeeper (and his team of about a dozen others) swept the lawns of one of the palaces in North Tehran after the winter, ridding it of debris to welcome the imaculate spring. All constructive comments, as usual, are appreciated.

Cheers,

Hugo

hugo, this one is much more like you. i still find it a bit soft focuswise. i can't find the focus point, either. was it set at infinity? i wonder if you were experimenting... on the positive side, i like the tilt. it makes an otherwise simple photo much more interesting. tension, i think you call it. much better than the last one.

take care,
tom

Hi John, Only too true, the scars of the Iran-Iraq war are still clearly visible today. I have a reportive triptych about those momentums too... Thanks for your comments,

Cheers,

Hugo

and from the hard works to easier. Can be a clean land without war and hates there? Can a big... giant street cleaner give peace to these people?
I am sure this is a very peaceful shot of this place Hugo. Iran has strong spots form the war with Irak and all the relegion's wars here. Even now that this country is in the Wold's target.
Very good shots from you.
Best wishes my friend!

Hello Hugo!

I enjoy this image very much. People in action. Working people!
I have to admit that the first thing that caught my eye was the broom! (I'm sure this was not what you wanted to catch the eye first!)
BUT...I have never seen a broom like that in 'real life'!! Reminds me of the broom I saw in the movie, Cinderella! So I really had to smile when I saw your wonderful image!
Interesting picture this is, all the vertical lines are wonderful, or I suppose better put, the diagonal lines! Other elements also being in the same diagonal direction; the rocks, even the pile of leaves! The man and broom are 'headed' in the same general direction! Very nice, and such a good eye to see this; but of course!! You 'see' designs and lines so well.

The rocks are kind of blue, but they do tie in with the man's attire and even some of the leaves!~

VERY VERY NICE!
Lori :)

Shadows added a special mood to this scene.
Congrats!

Consistent with the first photo of the triptych, the worker seems very concentrated on his work...
Also the same softness, maybe the images could gain from a little sharpening (unsharp mask).

Focus?

or did you make it soft on purpose?

Keep this up, Hugo.

My favourite moment in the movies is in "Fight Club" -

"We cook for you, we clean for you, we drive for you, we guard you in your sleep. Don't %^&*! with us."

Yes too often the most crucial people in the world such as these are overlooked.

Get more, dude.

Groeten,

Hugo.

I like the grace of the man's pose, the steep angle of the lawn, the horizontal bands of shadow, the line of stones... indeed the whole composition. If I had to put my finger on any weakness, I'd have to say the over-saturated colours. They make the whole thing look unreal to me. But I know I'm in the minority...

Hi dear Hugo...
This your photograph is attractive... a fine painting of a long series. On the work in type! Not always it is easy "to tell" what we see and above all to carry it on the photograph! but your capacity compositiva and simplicity to times leaves astounded me.
I believe that this is an attractive photograph also like work composition.

cheers

roby

Hi Hugo,

I like this one more than the first, all the diagonal lines over the whole picture, the shades, the leaves, the broom and the blue stone line... well scattered

Very well done!

Cheers,
Verena

It's a simple but beautiful register. The shadows gives a dynamic pleasant to the image. Well done.
Best regards, my friend.

Hugo, fine shot. You have given me many glimpses into different worlds. Sweeping the lawn with that "rake" looks like an exercise in frustration. Nice shot. Regards, Lou

Tim.

Neil Dolman   {K:26883} 4/14/2004
Hugo, now if only the man was holding the broom at the same angle as the tree in the background and that matched the angle of his nose, then this image would be perfect :)
Just taking the mickey Hugo :) Great capture. Something i'm not so good at photgraphing people, unless he's making cheese (ref. comment on my image!). Best wishes from your friend in the mountains with the best chocolate and cheese, not many tulips though! Neil

Constructive comment for this shot? I could not find one thing missing or wrong. All I could say is that it is an excellent shot. May be a little blurry I would say...

Groeten,

Hugo

de schaduw op de grond!

Teunis Haveman Teunis Haveman   {K:53426} 4/14/2004
Groet Teunis
