Kevin, great shot, love the clouds and the belching chimney. I think I took a shot of the same industrial buildings on our holiday in Northumberland this last week. Is this the chimney one can see from Berwick looking towards Bamburgh? I'll post the image in the next few days.

Hi Kevin, good choice, the fumes from the chimney sure are a very good eye catcher. I like the heavy rain in the distance over the bay. Great shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

You're quite right. It's the perfect detail in a very powerful, almost awe-inspiring photo. And although it would work as a panorama (the first thing I look for!), the lighter sky above the dark band of rain clouds is an essential part of the very strong effect. Very impressive!

Kevin, I love the feeling of this image. The sky being so overpowering in its immense fullness. And I agree with you about the smoke coming out of the chimney. But I would take it one step further. I would crop out everything under the horizon. The lightness of the dome keeps grabbing my eye... Good job.
