Soft light even though the shot is taken indoor with both light coming through the window and shadows normally are dark in this kinds of situations. Your shadows are not dark. The light on the floor on the left side is a bit too light, but that is not any problem for me - it only adds the feeling of a bright shiny day and also I get an idea of a heat outside. Beautiful mosaic and architecture. You have an unusual format here and that also makes the composition strong.
Cheers/
Jeanette

Hi Marion, thanks for your comment. These series from Iran, which look much better in print caused me to get myself a new digital camera too.... THat doesn't mean I'm completely converted now, and I will keep on using film, but my D100 is an excellent addition to my collection. Thanks for your comments!
Cheers,
Hugo

In this triptych, which reminds me so much of my trip in India, it's a pity that the three images are not the same size. I suspect you had to crop, especially this last one. You did manage to capture the atmosphere very well. Too bad that having to scan negatives causes a lack in sharpness. (one of the reasons I turned to digital). :)

The Techniques in photography is the trade secret, from handling, focusing, dof, angle, to exposure control. The image orientation depends on these and others factors. In this image symmetrical composition is significant, solid and strong. Leaving the bright? spots" in the bottom right of the image ,is justified, with the window being the transmitter of it, making the composition geometrical shape .such as triangle and rectangle as the "WHOLE?, they interact each other, What we learn from this image ,is that: the contrast of light and mosaics are the dominants .As this is the last image in this sereis,my only suggesion,is that for the future the best results to over come the dark indoor wall is by "filtration" so to get strong and clean photo, Well done the series are outstanding ,cheers .Saeed

Hallo Hugo! Well here the lighting from the window is viewed because of the dark colours of the wall. Interesting effect this. I think a filter (like a flat grey Cokin or a cirqle polarizer) can help you makes this lighting looks stronger. Anyway nise as it is and again the background looks nice. This is surely a very interesting building! Bye!

When I saw the thumbnail and even before seeing who photographed this, I thought of 'HUGO'!!
Hi Hugo, Another outstanding photograph of light and design! Marvelous this one is! MARVELOUS...there, I said it again. It deserves to be remarked about twice!
I especially like the light on the floor! Then, the beam, then design. Overall is WONDERFUL!!
Composition, perfect as usual.
Very nice work, Hugo!
ps...now get rid of that spot to the left of the lovely light on the floor!! LOL Also, thank you for your many comments. :)

Just beautiful. This is my favorite of the series. Great composition, I like how you captured the three elements: the window, the ray of light and the resulting formation. I could definitely feel the serenity there.
Take care...
