About Two friends and I made this lovely (rocky) spot our second "base camp" while ascending Red Slate Mt. (13,063') in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mt range. The storms rolled in every afternoon. Usually went like this: Sunny 65 degrees, then windy, then cold, then snow, then Hail, often lightning, then back to sunny...all in about 45 minutes! It freaked us out at first, especially the lightning strikes and the heavy smell of ozone.

Love the perspective of the lonely little tents dwarfed by the mountains...also like the fall of light on the tents as it hints at the unique lighting in situations like these...

You da man! Great shot, hope you took more for us to see.(lightning shots?) Those are dark looking clouds for sure. My buddies and I used to call that 'man camping'. We would take off to rough it, no kids or girlfriends/wives, for an annual man camping trip. I guess you made it through with no singed hair. ~~~:0 ........Randy

Awesome nature scenic. The tent in the foreground gives the scene a sense of scale.

Great to see another landscape from you Brad! This looks like a great camping spot; I'm jealous! Maybe I'll fight back by posting some of my own photos with tents!
A nice composition too and terrific moody lighting.
Regards :)
