About To all my friends, I'm making a concentrated effort to take more "people," something I've not been particularly good at. So the results may not be as good to look at as subjects I'm happier with. Please use this as an opportunity to say what's wrong and what could be done to improve things.

Roger-- also a subject area that I'm not good at either so I'll follow your progress with interest. I like this though-- a nice "slice of life" street shot with people at the morning outdoor market. Both the lady's profile and the guy with the American flag bag are interesting, and I think the composition is good.

hmmm people, not my best subject either ;-)
i always think that faces are the most important thing to see when shooting people, backs don't do much for me.
good luck with your new project, i'll watch with interest

Well, you asked for it?!
I think if I'd wanted to give this shot a little more imapct, Roger, I'd focus on the lady to the left, (the one with the checked bag), by adding some gaussian blur to the rest of the picture ~ and perhaps, at the same time, desaturate it a little, (the non-subject part that is!)
Just a thought. But, then, who am I to talk? If you can spot any people in many of my pictures, you're doing well!!
Kind regards,
Chris

Well I'm afraid my talents of "people" are even worse and so I can detect my own weak points at this image. We both seem too discrete characters for shooting Street/people with w-a lenses ? Somebody lately said with a SLR I see the composition, with an RF I get INTO the scene. I found this impressing well thought and said !
Watching your image It seems to me that you still remain within a certain distance, you are not IN the scene with that image. Perhaps this impression is additionally reinforced by the fact that too many people in the pic show you their back ?
All these problems are well known to me. But I haven't found a receipt yet. It's difficult, you need to find the right place, the right time and you must somehow get in CONTACT with the people, beein part of the scene. Still some of the best examples I find at www.steveunsworth.co.uk
