This is a real beauty. The house makes you wonder, what happend back there. The picture is made mysterious, the black car, the smoke parts on the house. And not to forget the really dark sky, the rainclouds, this makes it a realy mysterious photo. Looks on the picture like a place you don't want to walk in the middle of the night. Great capture!

Very nice composition. I really like the juxtaposition of the new car with the burned out building in what appears to be a rather seedy area. Including the sign advertising "fine food" in the frame just adds the crowning irony.

Sandy, these street shots of your are getting better and better
This one is great in every way but the places where you take this kind of shot don't look quite safe to me so, as Gayle already said, be careful!
I like the little story you added
Superb work, my friend!

Sometimes you've got to drive a good long way out of your comfort zone to get a good plate of hash browns.

Believe me, I know....

Sandy, I like the contrast in the photo; the neglected, destructed building versus the shiny new car. The story below gives a slightly different mood than the photo expresses in the first glance, but does add a sense of incompassion, which also fits perfectly. Very moody photo... and a completely uninviting atmosphere. Well captured, my compliments..

The tarnished street mirrors the tarnished character of those who's hands provide. Very similar to many of the Baltimore streets that I see every day. Fight hard, for what you love.

A bit too much contrast Sandy. Also the buildings to the right are a little pixelated. Otherwise, good shot.

These photos really are a good complement for stories. It would be great to see a longer piece and a continuum of photos to go along with it.

Great shot. But if you are going to write in the noir style, shouldn't this be in B&W;) I really do think this a marvelous shot. It feels cold.

its grizzly here in winter..
the girls voice was gruff. the cold had its grip on her throat.

walking for more cigerettes
with her friend. and this odd car which did not belong. what are they doing now, she asked him.

who cares..he shrugs with a smug look.
that smug look irritated her. she kept walking.
