She is one of my favorite models. She did not mind being a "still life" for this design. I manipulated the colors a bit to make it red, white and blue like our flag.

Thanks, Peter. I do love red. Some PS went into the water to make it a truer blue. I almost titled it "Red, White and Blue," but decided there was not enough white.

Thanks, John. It is actually from the late 80's and I intended to paint it.
My mother who was expert with oils helped me with the water, but it was my one and only painting - too slow for me - but people seem to like it, even though it is and always will be - unfinished.

Now this is what I call good!!!
The colours are fantastic and so well balanced. The black really brings it all together. Funny it reminds me so much of those great colour shots in the 50s and 60s. Be proud - you deserve it.

You are not the first to say "crop the top" but I think I need to see the edge of the pool and the full reflection of the ornaments.
However, I should consider cropping into the hat to remove the distractions. I will give it some thought.

Leora what catches me the most with this shot is the high graphical quality and intense colors. Definitely some thought behind composition on the foliage shadow as well. Nice play on title with the red/white/blue. While serene it is also packed with drama. Good work. Kind Regards, Cindi

Lou, I like your crop. I like the way it leaves the reflections and you see no boundaries. Jose made a good point, too, about the distractions. I am sure the model will like this. But I must add, I am still somewhat partial to the palm shadows and the shape of the pool.
And Stefan, I appreciate your desire for a looser crop, as well. I am looking for my horizontal version to post, which you may like better. It was originally my favorite. The horizontal is always closer to what the eye sees.

Hi Leora.I think cropped looks better. I find the open space on top( the white one, not the pool tiles) and the palm tree shadows a little distracting.But I love the saturation and the vibrant colors!

Good strong lines in your composition. The surroundings is such a strong presence in the photo I am left with a desire to see more of them (i.e. wanting a looser crop). I'm not usually a fan of hypersaturated colors but the larger than life colors work well here.
