About Playing around with my new holga filter in PS. I felt like it was cheating at first, but right now I can't afford to develope my regular holga prints. As my boyfriend says "It's a point and click world".

We had something that was like Coney Island here in Long Beach, California, called The Pike. It was torn down in the mid to late 1970's. The reason why I mentioned it is because this photograph is like a window to the past. It's all on memory, and as you might know, it can a blur. People are going to respond differently when you mention that it isn't a Holga, but rather a simulation. I don't care and you shouldn't either. What counts is the end result, you know?

i know what you're saying and i know what your boyfriend is saying and i know what Andreas is saying..he makes a good point too, one that i am sure did not escape you. It's weird and a little sad when a PS plug-in does Holga as good as Holga does Holga. Some things should remain sacred somehow. i have two Holgas and haven't dared to use them yet. i'm not sure what i want to say with them yet but by the time i figure it out, LOL, this place will be full of Photoshop Holga images. i am making no judgement, just observing the irony..and you created a superb image here, one worthy of the real thing for sure. Hey, does, Burger Guy know Tape Man? just wonderin'..:)) kat~

Andreas,

If you took time to look at Alisa's portfolio, you would have noticed that she has a holga. In fact, she owns two of them.

browsing usefilm by "toy camera" I saw this and clicked the thumb. There should be a category "fake". Funny, because Holga photography is a kind of moving against digital control ... so if you want to get the real Holga feeling ... get such a plastic camera and forget your control station on the PC for some hours.

I love it alisa. Works in many levels for me. For some reason, I don't want to see the original. It will ruin the "magic" of the image... hehehe

Again, very nice Alisa :-)

This is quite cool. Can you post the BEFORE shot so we have an idea of how much this changed?
