interesting -- i'd say i do like the componsition of the first better. a bit wider angle shot? after looking at the two side-by-side, i'd have to agree with your instinct in posting the darker one. i think the reflection off of the car really makes the shot...adds a bit of a nostalgia/classic touch!

Scott - actually I did bracket - here's a shot that's about 1 stop more exposure and not contrast-enhanced. I moved over a bit on this one, so the composition isn't quite as good, I fear. What do you think?

very cool...i like the crispness of the reflections (is that a camry?). i wonder what it would look like plus another stop or two...did you bracket this shot at all? i suspect the neon would have started to bleach out, but just a hint more form to the building might be nice. for a first attempt at night photography, i'd say you did wonderfully!
