So if you are using this as yard sculpture what are the poor hogs doing for their skin? Really interesting details!

One of your best! Great color, pattern, and texture. The slight curve of the grooves prevent the near symmetry from being static.

I know what it is... and how it is used...
but reminds this viewer of a bronze dish, hanging from the cieling... just above his head... when he has an 'Ayurveda' treatment... there are many Ayuverdic treatments... originating from India... Ok Enough of his verbosity...
The capture and treatment in terms of crop et cetera is very good.

Interesting device. I had never seen a hog oiler before. As a matter of fact I didn't even know what a hog is untill I looked it up. Anyway, as I probably said before, you turn whatever thing into something beautiful in your photos. I like the object and I like the way you captured it. This is a nicely composed image with a fantastic texture, excellent crop and again those typical beautiful colours you can make pop up from rusty metal. Regards

It looks more like an old Greek amphora that was rescued from deep waters. Funny but the letters don't see Greek to me :) Terrific one, Harlan. Marília

I will resist to take the hog oiler jokes any further :-) Great colors as usual. This detail could also look like a stylized rooster or hen if you wanted it to.

Some may ask, "What is a hog oiler?" Here's a picture of the whole oiler. Oil is placed in the bottom trough and the hog rubs against the upper part to oil its dry skin.
