I was walking through Devil's Den state park with a friend when I noticed these tiny little yellow things growing around the base of a tree. They only stood about three inches tall, so I wasn't able to get my tripod low enough to get close to 'em. I had to lay on my belly, prop my shoulder against the tree, and my elbow on the ground to act as a monopod. Anyway, I just liked how the colors turned out, so I thought I'd post it to see if anyone thinks it was worth the trouble of taking the picture. :)
Thank you for the very kind comments, and I'm glad you liked it. :) And, yes, more DOF would've been nice, as I realized after seeing the resulting image, but, unfortunately, I was already at 1/15sec. and having to hand-hold it. I didn't wanna risk not getting anything in focus at all, so I had to settle for what I got. :( But, next time, I'll take my Slik tripod...it's heavier, but I can extend the legs out as far as I need to get the head right down to the ground. Then I can get as much DOF as my lens will allow. :)
definately worth the trouble. this is now one of my favorite flower shots on this site:). a little more DOF would be nice, as mary said, but this is still excellent.
Yep, worth the trouble!! Great contrasting colors, good use of DOF. I wonder if just a tad more DOF to capture the entire yellow flower would have been possible, although probably not with the +4. This is a very nice image, great job!
