Wow, what a superb quality and nice capture! Very original kind of dragonfly as well! at least for me, but perhaps they are common where you live. I'm more used to those bronze colored, ore green-brown ones... but I have seen one of these blue ones in the summer, although I didn't get a too good shot of it. But it doesn't matter, I can enjoy your's instead! ;-)

Excellent clarity Mark. Great background, the blue actually matches the blue on the damselfly. It appears your angle of view is slightly below the head. You must have been laying on the ground to get this shot.
PS: About the background on my Fritillary. I was in a hurry and didn't take my time. I was cloning out a few hot spots. I went back and looked at it and man it does really look bad. Thanks for your critique.
