Jeepers. Tom -- you can't even shoot "plain" and make it look plain! This is just lovely -- love the off-centeredness of it, and also the fact that you've let the tones come through so that it's not the typical "pure" black and white. I think it adds another dimension, a bit of spirit. Nicely done.
Black and white bridge against a white sky, you can do no wrong in my opinion! Sorry I'm a sucker for industrial geometry. Seriously though you seem to have struggled with the contrast and you either have some flare on the right side of the structure or you have tried to dodge this in PS. Plus the composition is very awkward, as if you had so much material here you couldn't decide what to focus on. I've attached a tighter crop with horizon taken from the cross pieces under the roadway. I had a twiddle with levels, curves, contrast, the settings on my toaster and that dial in my car that makes my headlights go up and down for no apparent reason, and I still can't get it cripser! :-)
