Beautiful portrait, Peta! I love the colouring and the excellent detail in the foreground.
I also love pictures with guitars in them, playing a bit myself.
Interesting you should mention Barry McGuire. Not everybody knows that he became a very committed Christian and cut several fine Gospel albums. He also played the lead role of Peter in a Jimmy and Carol Owens musical called 'The Witness'. I went to see him in it in the city of Leicester prior to taking that role myself in a production we took around the South West of England! It was a powerful show and I found the whole experience very moving.

As for the picture.....when did they start growing trees in Texas? [It is Texas, isn't it?]
I was once imprisoned in a Jesuit boarding school in El Paso and couldn't see any trees from my cell.
I've got nose prints all over my monitor from looking for the deterioration. Maybe you can show me how to do it on my stuff?

Peta, I remember Barry McGuire well, and The Christy Minstrels. Green Green, Wow thats 60's, Eve of Destruction was a powerful song for then also. His style sort of turned thru those years, but what remained consistant was his meaningful lyrics. As your photography always seems to deliver a feeling of one kind or another, and always such a pleasure to view. This image has a lot of green color and tones. Not overpowering, just pleasant. Brook's facial features and hair are sharp yet nice and soft. Loks fine to me. A beautiful image Peta.

Karen & Daniel, her face is lovely in this and I do love the idea of Karen's crop but as I mentioned this particular photo was showing 'deterioration' for want of the technical term, and it was in her skin tones that it was most noticable. So I could not ever get a print made of any good size from it. I am now tryng always to keep my original file. I was pretty cluelss 2 years ago. :)
Also as others have noted I rather liked how her sweater colour blended in with the tree.

I like Karen's version much better, the model's position over the guitar looks kind of ackward, IMO just a face portrait brings out the best of the model as in Karen's attached version.

This is beautiful. The skin coloring and the rose of the mouth are perfect compliments. If it were my work, I'd close in the face, losing all the other elements of the picture. I'd crop as shown.

This is excellent Peta-- you take the most captivating portraits, and I'd never guess you had any digital problems with this one-- looks to me like it's really going to do well here on UF. Well, it's already done well-- but I think it'll do even better. Very nice-- and I like your continuing "green" theme.

The eve of destruction, it's not -- although it sounds as if the file may have come perilously close. The lighting and the one visible eye make this exceedingly special -- and, of course, the color green. I think Van Morrison also did a "Green" song sometime in the seventies, based on the life and times of Kermit the Frog. --Jim

A very beatiful portrait, I don't remember Green,Green but I bought Eve of Destruction in 1965 I think, one of my favourite songs back then. I love the colours you have used in this and I can't see any deterioration, well done Peta - Richard.
