About Just returned from a week in the Yellowstone area of Montana. Here's my first offering from my trip: Quake Lake. I gasped when coming around the curve in the road and seeing this ominous landscape. This is located between West Yellowstone and Ennis, MT. The lake was formed after a massive earthquake in the 1950's caused an entire side of a mountain to slide down, blocking off the Madison River.

Carol; This is a beautiful, beautiful B&W, and I've been here too, although 30+ years ago. The IR foreground (I think?) is beautiful, but what really grabs my attention is the long smooth "S" shaped curve of the lake that leads the eyes toward that very dramatic sky. Really well done. Cheers. Craig

Perfect, panoramic perspective.. perfect panoramic perspective..perpeft panurmic pursictive.... He, he, he... Could not resist as you told me to say that 5 times fast! I appreciate your kind comments on my lighthouse image. It was a fun morning! Early but fun!

Now this image! This is terrific! Nice contrast, sky and rhythm created by the water. The water really does a nice job of leading you into the image. This is a real winner!

Outstanding, Carol. Not only a good IR image, but a great grayscale depiction of one of my favorite places. Yellowstone is certainly the navel of the earth. I can't wait to see more. Good work. Peace.

Great perspective - I like how the curve heads straight for the notch in the hills.

Yeah! You're back. You have been missed -- along with your photos and your pointed and often humorous comments. Welcome back.

I suspect your rendition of this is even more ominous than the real thing. I think I see some dodging and burning worthy of Ansel himself, the shameless trickster. The little slot of bright light between the leaden clouds and the black hill is somehow just the touch that lifts this into to category of extraordinary. Can't wait for more.
