the essence of me......

songless for so long......

the rest is silence......

may it be......

empty crib......

in my dreams......

all the night songs......

on the street where I live....

shelter in my arms......

where the forest begins......

Outstanding infrared capture, Tess. Tack sharp focus and excellent composition make this an exquisite image. Top ranks. However, my only criticism (and it's just a personal judgment call), is with your choice of a blue tonal range. Infrared often lends itself well with a bluish hue, but usually as a portrayal of moonlight- and most of those images have extreme shadows with hard edges. Yours is a beautiful image with soft flowing organic forms and soft shadows.

I look for inspiration from the accomplished infrared photographer Steven I. Rosenbaum, who writes about his IR technique in the August 2003 edition of Outdoor Photographer Magazine. Most importantly, and I agree, (paraphrased) '...that adding the aesthetic buffer of a monochromatic tint, like sepia helps to bridge the gap between state-of-the-art digital infrared images and a time-tested classic photo-imaging technique.'

Blue or bluish infrared images can be and often are spectacular. But most infrared images are shot to depict the interesting unseen light afforded with an infrared filter. Again, just my verbose opinion.

Attached (please, please pardon the intrusion) is your splendid image toned in a warmer hue. Peace.
